'I have always wanted to gain a qualification in both of these subjects (Numeracy and Literacy.) Leaving school as I did in 1962, not many pupils were asked if they wanted to take exams, if you weren't in the top 5 you could forget it. I found it very difficult to find classes that fitted around my working day especially when I had children. Now you can have your classes come into the workplace it makes it much easier to achieve. There is no excuse for anyone not to gain a qualification. I can now tell my grandchildren with pride that finally I have done what I wanted to do.'
