Access Diploma - Success & Feedback
Success Story
Helen Maxwell, Access to University
Having completed her Access to University course, Helen took the opportunity of a lifetime and travelled to Borneo to spend 6 weeks as a volunteer in an orangutan sanctuary.
Originally a sales manager in Dublin, Helen has always had a keen interest in primates, and waiting for her Access results gave her the chance to fulfil her dream of actually working with these amazing animals.
Whilst at LMC Helen studied Biology, Drugs Diseases & Biological Defences, Science, Lab Skills and Human Physiology, and she will now go on to Glasgow University to gain a degree in Zoology.
Students’ Feedback
‘The tutors are great. They are there all the time with help and support
and even just a chat if that’s what you need.
I have thoroughly
enjoyed my time at college, the facilities are brilliant and Student Services
is extremely helpful.’
Terri Harwood, Access to
Nursing
‘The best thing about studying at LMC is the support from the tutors;
they’re always there to help and offer advice which has a positive effect
on achievement.
The best thing about the course is meeting new friends. Everyone
helps each other and it’s nice to have a mix of older and younger students.
The
feeling is indescribable when you are getting to the end of your course and
you’re finally getting to where you want to be. I left school
with poor GCSEs and now I have been offered a place at university.’
Stacey
Dalley, Access to Social Work
‘I got to meet lots of new people who may be coming to university with
me.’
Emma Singleton, Access to Nursing
‘The course I chose was exactly what I was expecting, the coursework
was interesting and tutor support was excellent.
You will get out of
the course what you put in. If you put the effort in you will definitely succeed.’
Charlotte
Pinder, Access to Nursing
‘The best thing about my course is it’s very interesting and is
so well taught. I never go home thinking that I don’t understand what
has been taught.
I had been out of education for nearly 12 years and
thought I would struggle getting back into studying but the support is fantastic.’
