You will have the opportunity to enhance your learning through visits to exhibitions, competitions, shows and performances and will develop a thorough understanding of the business side of a salon’s operation as well as the front of house treatments and services.
The commercial salons on campus provide the perfect setting to develop your skills in customer care, reception duties and client consultation, and give you access to the latest in facial and skincare equipment and techniques so you are fully prepared for further study or employment.
Students completing these courses gain employment in the beauty industry in a huge variety of situations including holiday resorts overseas, cruise ships, spas, salons and retreats. Some choose to set up their own business, and others pursue a career in the film, theatre, TV, media and photographic industries.
Hair and Media Make-Up Diploma Level 3

General information
The course will provide you with knowledge on the underlying principles of creative hair design and a variety of media make up techniques. You will learn the practical skills involved in being able to successfully carry out these services.
Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like a career in hairstyling and make up artistry and those who may be progressing from either Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing.
What do I need to join the course?
You will need either:
- 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English and Maths
- Beauty Therapy Diploma Level 2
- Hairdressing Diploma Level 2
You will also have enthusiasm for the subject, enjoy working with people and be committed to your studies.
