General information
Traditionally, new entrants into engineering occupations have required basic
training in understanding safety, recognising materials and processes and being
able to use industrial standard communication methods, such as engineering
drawings.
The performing engineering operations qualification can provide this at level
2. It also provides the foundation requirement of the Apprenticeship when appropriate
evidence routes are selected from level 2. All work undertaken is assessed throughout
the duration of the course.
Who is the course for?
Anyone with a desire to work in the engineering industry.
What do I need to join the course?
You will need one of the following:
- 3 GCSEs Grade D and 1 GCSE Grade C
- GNVQ Foundation at Merit or above
- NVQ Level 1 in a related field or equivalent
- BTEC Introductory Certificate/Diploma at Pass
The important attributes will be a commitment to the course, a willingness to work hard and to make regular, prompt attendance at College.
