Courses in this section can lead to careers in the creative industries worldwide including fashion, interior design, sculpture, product design, 3D design, illustration, advertising, video and web design.
Your professionally experienced tutors will support you in exploring a range of media and methods, helping you to identify your individual style and preferences. You will make use of the purpose built studios, display spaces and computer suites to produce work of a professional standard, and enhance your skills and technical ability.
You will have the opportunity to showcase your work in competitions, public exhibitions, shows and performances throughout the year and many of our students choose to display their work publicly through social media such as Facebook, MySpace and Flickr.
Students progress into a range of
employment in the creative industries from
these courses, though many choose to
progress to further study. Most students
completing the Level 3 and Foundation
Diplomas go on to study at universities or
Art and Design schools throughout the UK

Film & TV Production BTEC Level 3

General information
The television and film industries are rapidly expanding areas with constantly changing technology. Throughout this course, specialist modules will allow you to study TV and Film Production via drama, documentary, news, factual reporting and scriptwriting. One third of the course deals with media theory. The course is suited to motivated students who are keen to see their ideas realised and who enjoy working in a creative environment. It is the equivalent of 3 A Levels and is designed to give an introduction to the Media through practical experience, where you can learn about the processes of Media Production by making your own programmes.
Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like a career in the media, film & television industries or who are progressing from a related level 2 qualification.
What do I need to join the course?
You will need either:
- 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English
- BTEC Diploma Level 2 at Distinction
You must also have a commitment to your studies, have enthusiasm for the subject and enjoy working with people.
