Nursery Children Dress the Part to Raise Money on Jeans for Genes Day
Children from Treetops Nursery at Lancaster and Morecambe College have been helping staff raise money on Jeans for Genes Day. The children all donned denim and donated to the charity. Staff also got in on the act, paying £2 to wear their jeans to work and running a Jeans for Genes stall.
The children visited the college’s Learning Centre, and even received a free book as a thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause. Andrea Wilson, Learning Services Development Manager, said ‘It was great to see the children raising awareness of this charity and raising money for children with genetic disorders. As part of the National Year of Reading we were able to offer all of the children a free book to help celebrate their contributions.’
Lancaster and Morecambe College Learning Centre staff ran a stall selling cakes and biscuits to raise more funds for Jeans for Genes; Steph Blackwell’s son even donated his old jeans which were used to collect donations from staff and students.
