Matrix Excellence Award
IAG at HMYOI Lancaster Farms are Award winners!
The Information, Advice and Guidance team at HMYOI Lancaster Farms, managed by Lancaster and Morecambe College, was announced as a 2008 matrix Excellence Award winner at the Institute of Directors on 27th November 2008.
The Excellence Awards judges applauded the distance travelled by the team in creating a seamless journey for the learner, raising the profile of IAG across the prison and influencing practice at both regional and national level.
They highlighted several areas of exceptional activity in the prison sector, in which learners have visibly benefited from a more coordinated IAG response, using the matrix Standard as a shared framework.
This includes the creation of an IAG network for juvenile and young offender prisons in the North West region.
Meanwhile the team has continued to lead by example region-wide. Their ground-breaking work has been modelled by five other Lancashire prisons, which collectively went on to achieve Matrix Accreditation.
