Assembly at the Hexagon
March Concert
Following on from the successful Lancaster Girls’ Grammar Disco which was held at the Hexagon on Friday 13/3/09 which attracted over 250 students, the Hexagon played host to another Assembly All Age Concerts event on Saturday 21/3/09.
Attendance was excellent at 292 people. The event is getting bigger and better each time we run it. Most of the audience came from local schools: Grammar schools, Ripley, QES, Central High, Morecambe High, Carnforth High and Our Lady’s as well as some students from LMC.
Age range of the audience 14-18yrs All the bands were first-rate and very well received (each band was on for 35 mins). Idol Minds (who have regularly played the Hexagon) in particular, produced their best performance to date.
Evie Sandham who represents Assembly All Age Concerts for this area said it was the best event they’d had and a lot of the audience had come up to her on the night and said they’d really enjoyed themselves and would definitely be coming to the next one. She also praised the venue and staff who were involved in the set-up and running of the event.
Assembly are set to return in early October 2009. We have another similar event in the Hexagon which will be organised by the LMC Students’ Union and is scheduled for Saturday, 16/5/09.
