Czech IT Out
Two LMC students visited Jablonec in the Czech Republic for 3 weeks’ work experience this summer, funded by the Leonardo project.
Alex Drive and John Beshir, both students on the BTEC National Diploma IT Practitioners, worked on live projects in local companies.
Alex worked at LSC, where he carried out hardware repairs, updates and upgrades, and solved an issue which had been causing the company problems for over 2 years. John’s destination was Miton, a company specialising in internet and website provision, where he was involved in developing utilities and digital signatures for PDFs. As part of their work experience the students were supported with language sessions to help them enjoy the local culture.
Having successfully completed their courses at LMC, Alex and John are both starting degrees in computer sciences, at Bath and Lancaster Universities, respectively.
