Access Student’s Success
Third year running
For the third year running Ascentis have awarded the David Moore Bursary for outstanding achievement to a student from Lancaster and Morecambe College.
This year’s winner was Katy Holdsworth who has progressed from LMC to study Medicine at Lancaster University. Katy showed dedication to her studies, combining college with bringing up her two children, using the college Treetops nursery whilst studying.
Speaking about her time at LMC, Katy said “I had a superb, very supportive tutor and I really enjoyed the course”
The Access course is the recognised route back into education for mature students who need further qualifications to progress to University level study or wish to change direction in their career. Students from the LMC course have moved on to study at degree level in nursing, teaching and health and social care amongst other subjects.
