Mary Tinsley of Lancaster and Morecambe College Treetops Nursery has been honoured by Ofsted in a celebratory event recognising outstanding Early Years childcare providers in England.
Mary attended the outstanding providers’ event at Manchester Town Hall which was hosted by Zenna Atkins, chairman of the Ofsted board.
Mary said “I felt very proud to attend the event as the only nursery in the area to receive the outstanding provider’s outcome. This is welcome recognition for the professional commitment of my experienced staff team and my wide childcare experience.”
Treetops Nursery is based on the Lancaster and Morecambe College site, and provides term time care for preschool children of college staff and students and children from the local community. The nursery recently received a £20,000 grant from Lancashire County Council to build a challenging outdoor play environment. A local firm Cedar Hill Landscapes has worked with the staff team to complete this; the children now have free flow access to outdoor play.
All those who appear on the outstanding providers list 2008/09 receive commemorative certificates and are authorised to use an exclusive “outstanding provider” logo.
