Sport Relief 2010
Students and Staff at Lancaster & Morecambe College have been getting active to raise money for Sport Relief.
Sports and Public Services students had a Sport Relief Challenge afternoon at the LMC Sport & Fitness involving various activities such as the cross bar challenge, hole of glory, hula hoop challenge and dodge ball. Students dressed in sports strip and donated money to Sport Relief for the privilege of taking part.
On Friday FE Sports Co-ordinator Nick Milner completed a solo challenge of rowing 44 miles on a rowing machine; the equivalent of the length of the River Lune. On completing the challenge Nick said “After seeing Eddie Izzard complete 43 marathons in 51 days, I wanted a challenge that would really test me. With 5 miles to go I felt like I’d hit the wall but there was no way I was giving up and similar to Eddie I did complete it feeling exhausted but content that the pain I was experiencing would help raise money for those who desperately needed it”
Over the two events over £700 was raised for Sport Relief.
