Aim Higher
Mission Statement
The LMC Aim Higher project aims to work alongside the National Aim Higher strategy by working with existing students, in order to empower them to make positive choices in their lives and take advantage of the opportunities available to them. This, we plan, will be achieved through supporting and inspiring young people at Lancaster & Morecambe College.
National Objectives
- Raising awareness of higher education
- Provision of information, advice and guidance to young people, parents/carers and teachers about the benefits of, and opportunities for, HE
- Preparation for HE study
- Raising aspirations and motivation so that young people feel confident to go on to seek HE entry
- Raising attainment and enriching, accelerating and extending the school and college curriculum
- Facilitating progression routes and curriculum developments and pathways
- Sharing or providing access to HE facilities
- Developing partnerships, research and development, and disseminating good practice
