A View From A Hill
LMC students created a visual artwork that resembled a visual environment, i.e. a cinema screen, created entirely from VHS videotape, a material solely associated with visual media. More details
Former Student’s TV Success
LMC is playing host to two Spanish students, Victor Gonzalez and Santiago Moreno who are undertaking work experience in the College’s Computer Services department. More details

Former LMC student Lisa Allen is through to the second round in the Great British menu, after winning the North West heat at the beginning of April, beating Johnnie Mountain and Aiden Byrne. More details
LUMS Business Challenge
On the morning of Wednesday 17th March 2010, eight students attended the finals of Sim Venture Business Challenge at Lancaster University Management School. More details
Poland Visit
Nineteen second year students from Lancaster and Morecambe College took part in a five day visit to Poland as part of their course. More details
School Helpers
LMC Level 1 Joinery students Mark Bowman and Bob Eccles spent a day at Morecambe Road School recently improving facilities for the students.
They fitted out the school’s potting shed with workbenches to provide storage space and make it easier for the students to carry out planting.
The school staff were impressed with the LMC students’ attitude and problem solving skills and were looking forward to working with them again on future projects.

Eight LMC Adult Literacy students have recently had their work published by the BBC as part of My Story. More details
European Week 2010
This year’s European Week was again a great learning experience for our students, for the 562 primary school children, their teachers, and also for the members of college staff who organised and ran it. More details
LMC Goes Green in 2010
Lancaster and Morecambe College continues to make strides in protecting the environment. It has signed up to the 10:10 climate change project, recently hosted its own ‘One Planet Festival’ and is currently planting hedges and oak trees for local wildlife. More details
Sport Relief 2010
Students and Staff at Lancaster & Morecambe College have been getting active to raise money for Sport Relief.
Sports and Public Services students had a Sport Relief Challenge afternoon at the LMC Sports Centre involving various activities. More details
Coulson’s Challenge
49 guests enjoyed a fundraising lunch at Lancaster & Morecambe College’s Coulson’s Restaurant in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event was the culmination of an intensive six week’s hard work for students on “The Challenge”, a project run by LMC and Young People’s Services. More details
Outdoor Play Area
Treetops Nursery recently held the opening of its new outdoor play area. The area was officially opened by Cynthia MacPherson, a former tutor at LMC who was instrumental in founding the first nursery on the college site. More details
Make do and Mend
Tuesday 3rd March saw Lancaster and Morecambe College's annual celebration of live music, film and fashion. This year's theme was "Make do and Mend" with Art and Design students showcasing their innovative outfits made from recycled materials. More details
Money Matters at LMC
Lancaster and Morecambe College celebrated national Money Week with a campaign to help students learn to handle their money effectively. More details

Student Council is where main class reps, student officers and student governors get together once every half term. A record of 39 students attended Student Council on 4th February. More details
Skills For Health
Lancaster and Morecambe College and the NHS Skills Academy for Health have been working together on an employability programme for people who are on Incapacity benefit and are starting work placements in the NHS. More details

Lancaster and Morecambe College hosted its first wedding reception earlier this month, for a bride who was also celebrating her 40th birthday. More details

Mary Tinsley of Lancaster and Morecambe College Treetops Nursery has been honoured by Ofsted in a celebratory event recognising outstanding Early Years childcare providers in England. More details

Bay Studios Visit
20 students from the First Diploma for ICT Practitioners course paid a visit to the Bay Radio studios on St Georges Quay, Lancaster in December. This is an educational visit we have made to The Bay for the last 4 years. More details
Access Student’s Success
For the third year running Ascentis have awarded the David Moore Bursary for outstanding achievement to a student from Lancaster and Morecambe College. This year’s winner was Katy Holdsworth who has progressed from LMC to study Medicine at Lancaster University. More details
Universal Gig
On Friday 11th December, More Music, DT3 and LMC Students' Union hosted the first UNIVERSAL! It was a fantastic night, with over 200 people attending and 15 local acts performing. More details
Mitchell’s Chef of the Year
Lancaster and Morecambe College are proud hosts of Mitchell’s Chef of the Year competition for the third year running. The college’s industry standard training kitchens saw the six finalists create stunning 2 course menus in just an hour and a half. More details
Students Make their Mark
Lancaster and Morecambe College Students were successful once again in reaching the North West regional final of the Make Your Mark challenge organised as part of Enterprise week 2009. The LMC team of First Diploma in Business students made it through to the final ten teams in the region from over 70,000 national entrants. More details
