If you are 16-18
The Young Learner Support Fund may be able to help if your parents or carers receive a means tested benefit, or are on a low income. Financial support may be available for bus fares, childcare, expenses and equipment. Check on our website at www.lmc.ac.uk for up to date information as this can change after this publication has been printed. Some students in particular situations can receive a larger bursary, if they are in care, leaving care or receiving Income Support in their own name. Young parents and those on both ESA and DLA may also benefit.
If you are over 19
The Learner Support Fund can help with the cost of travel, uniform and equipment if you are receiving a means tested benefit or you are on a low income. Please check for up to date information on our website, www.lmc.ac.uk for any changes.
Childcare (16-18 and 19+)
Ask at Student Services if you need help with the cost of childcare while you are studying.
Residential Support Scheme
If you wish to study at LMC, but live beyond daily travelling distance, you may be entitled to financial assistance dependent on parental income and if the course is not available at a college nearer to where you live.
Course and Exam Fees
If you are under 19 and have been resident in the UK or EU for the last 3 years, you can study a full-time course for free (excluding higher education courses).
If you are aged 19 or over and will be studying towards your first full Level 2 qualification, you may be entitled to study for FREE! Full level 2 qualifications are: NVQ 2, BTEC First Diploma, 5 GCSEs/O Levels at A*-C, GNVQ Intermediate or 5 OCNW Stage A.
If you are aged 19-24 you may be eligible to study towards your first full Level 3 qualification for FREE!

If you are aged 19-24 and have grade D, you can study GCSE Maths and English for FREE.
College Bus Services
People travel from all over the region to study at Lancaster and Morecambe College so, to make your life easier, we offer full-time students daily return transport during term time.

Garstang Bus
If you will be travelling from Garstang and surrounding areas you may be eligible to receive a bus pass for use on scheduled services.
