Learning Support

We want to support you in achieving your goals and ensure you have a successful and enjoyable experience at Lancaster and Morecambe College.

Your assessment will be friendly and informal and you can discuss your support needs or any other concerns that you think may effect your learning, check your eligibility and agree your Additional Learning Support (ALS) plan.

July last year we supported 423 students across college.

Learning Support can be help in class, dyslexia assessments, alphasmarts, laptops, exam access or arrangements.

We are funded by the Learning and Skills Council who issue guidelines to show who is entitled to support.

Each person is assessed individually but generally if you had a statement of Educational Needs, Action or Action Plus or classroom help at school then it is likely that you will be able to receive ALS.

We do need to collect evidence to show that you are entitled to your support which could be a copy of any of the above or medical support from your GP or Specialist, but we can help you get this.
