I chose business because throughout my time at high school it was always something I excelled in and got the best grades overall. I like figuring out how businesses work and why people decide to set up a business, and this course has allowed me to develop a better understanding of businesses, even those on the local high street.

What have you done since leaving Lancaster & Morecambe College?
I’m now on an apprenticeship at Lancaster & Morecambe College as a Digital Marketing Apprentice.

Why did you choose to study at LMC?
I chose LMC initially because it was recommended to me by my mum who took an Access to University Diploma Level 3 course there in order to continue onto university. Once I started I saw for myself what a great college it is. I have had nothing but endless support and advice throughout my two years at college and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t attended.

What were the best bits about your course?
For me, the best things about the course were the trips and visits. This is because it allows you to see things in perspective. When you’re writing an assignment it’s easier to understand them if you have seen it happening in real life. For example we went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach to understand how they have managed to grow into the company they are today with the different ways in which they advertise and direct their advertisements at their preferred target audience. Obviously, the rides were fun too!

What would you say to someone who was thinking about studying business at LMC?
Honestly, I’d say do it! It’s been the best two years of my life so far. Sarah and Jon (my tutors) offer so much support and are always there for you when you need someone to talk to. The one thing I’d recommend is that you don’t leave assignments until the last minute; if you keep up to date, you’ll have a really good time. I joined the course knowing nobody and came out with a brilliant group of friends who I can rely on for anything.
