Many of our students progress to the world of work or higher education, read our Alumni stories to find out where our students went after College.
If you are looking into taking this course, I can guarantee that you will be taught well and take part in making many challenging and exciting practical pieces.
I have five other members of staff and we have won Salon of the Year and Customer Service awards at the English Beauty Awards, two years in a row. I am extremely proud of my team for these awards and am proud of the career that I have built myself.
The best thing about my course was gaining experience in handling a range of animals both at college and at a placement alongside gaining necessary knowledge through the tutors.
I enjoy working independently outside of lessons and have been given useful resources to help me, with tutors accessible whenever I need help.
After 6th form I no longer wanted to do the uni course I had applied for but could no longer change it. So I wanted to do a Level 4 course in animal care which they didn’t do at Kendal College.
I chose Lancaster & Morecambe College because the Public Services course was a challenge but this came with growth and opportunities. The course was a combination of physical and mental challenges. Additionally, we were given the opportunity of meaningful work experience placements, student support at this college is amazing, from providing one to one help in the classroom to offering advice, study support and financial guidance for students.
The ability to do both theory and practical work in the same area really appeals to me. The tutors and my classmates are great too.
I am learning lots of new things on my course and have had the chance to do work experience as well. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and support me well with my studies.
The courses gave me confidence to apply for the jobs I wanted and prepared me with what to say and how to act throughout the interview process. I really enjoyed the cabin crew course, I visited so many new places, which I wouldn’t have experienced had I not joined the LMC course.
Lancaster & Morecambe College helped me to increase confidence in myself, not just teaching me the basics of classical cookery, but enabling me to achieve as much as I want to achieve. It was there that I realised you can get as much out of your chosen career as you put in, it’s all about having the motivation, a good group of people around you, and the ethic to work, work, work! I was awarded ‘Apprentice of the Year 2011’ which I was extremely grateful for and really topped off my time here.
The time I spent at LMC made me a much more confident person! It re-opened doors for me which I thought were closed for good. LMC also introduced me to Morecambe Ladies Football Club. I honestly believe a lot of the characteristics I cherish, which have made me a better soldier over the years, were gained at LMC.
Through completing my course at LMC it allowed me to get the grades to get into university even though I never stuck it out there. But LMC also helped me get the job I’ve got today. My current employers looked at what I had done at college and the experienced I gained there in the sports department.
