This course will provide you with an excellent introduction to the Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy industries, including: the art of applying a range of make-up techniques, eye treatments, skin tanning, creative hair design, body art, colouring and dressing hair.
On completion of this course you will gain a Level 2 Diploma in Hair & Media Make-up.

Assessments will take place continuously throughout the course consisting of projects, assignments, course work, portfolio building, online exams and practical performance demonstrations to show your creativity.
Students attend College 3 days a week for a mix of practical and theory sessions and students are also expected to undertake a substantial amount of home study.
We give our students the opportunity to attend trips and visits to events such as the Blackpool Hair & Beauty Festival and we also encourage students to take part in a variety of activities within College such as fundraising events and in-house competitions.
All students are required to carry out an industry work placement which allows the students to demonstrate their skills in a real working environment and learn more about techniques used within their chosen industry area. Students will have the opportunity to choose one of several work places, such as: hairdressers, beauty salons and make-up counters.
Upon course completion many of our students choose to progress onto the Theatrical & Media Make-up Level 3 course, while some students choose to progress straight into full time work or an Apprenticeship.

To study this course, you must:

You must also have 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or higher, including English or Maths OR a related Level 1 qualification PLUS grade D/3 or higher in English or Maths.
