This course teaches both theoretical and practical aspects of electrical installation and is suitable for school leavers and adults wishing to become involved in the plumbing & heating industry or associated disciplines.
The course consists of six exams, four theory assessments and one project along with practical assessments which will be carried out under assessment conditions. At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of all aspects of plumbing & heating; ideal for someone who wishes to progress onto full time employment or a Level 3 Apprenticeship.
4 GCSEs at grade A-C/4-9, specifically in English & Maths.
All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional Skills English & Maths qualifications or GCSE English & Maths if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects.
If you have a grade D/3 at GCSE you will study English &/or Maths GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D/3 will work towards GCSE through the study of English & Maths Functional Skills.
Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.
You will study the following:
Plumbing and heating practical
All LMC students will receive tutorial support and take a programme of Functional Skills including English & Maths.
LMC has guest speakers along with joint events for all students. There is also an excellent opportunity to take part in National Citizen Service (NCS) which gives learners opportunities for bonding and stepping outside of their comfort zones.
Upon completion you can progress to Higher Education, employment, self-employment, and may work nationally or even internationally.
Progression in the workplace can lead to management roles and after experience, your career may lead to teaching and training others.
You can develop your skills within the Plumbing & Heating industry with further training in:

Renewable Energy Technologies
Oil Fired Appliances
