This is an introductory course in the fundamental skills of drawing, aimed at beginners who would like to build up their confidence in art drawing. On this course you will explore basic skills such as tone, form, texture, composition and perspective.
This is a practical course and learning will be by a series of exercises, tutor demonstrations and introduction to different materials.
This course will include:-
The Importance of sketchbooks and learning to see
Lines and mark making
Capturing shape and space
This course is taught by Jayne Lancaster, an artist who specialises in drawings and illustrations, taking most of her inspiration from the rural farming and countryside environment.
Jayne graduated from the University of Cumbria with a Foundation Degree in Drawing and has participated in several community artworks, for example, contributing ‘Rosie the Sheep’ to the Go Herdwick Public Art Trail, and creating a large-scale mural of the fells surrounding Ullswater for the Outward Bound Trust.
As well as creating animal portraits for private commissions, Jayne runs demonstrations, workshops and art courses, while also selling artworks online and locally.
This course costs £120.00, including exam fees.
You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
