This is a nationally recognised qualification which covers the installation and maintenance of heat pump systems. The qualification is developed from the National Occupational Standards and is recognised by the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join one of their respective schemes.

Entry Requirements

To study this course, learners should have:

  • A minimum NVQ Level2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering or at least 3 years relevant experience

  • Water Regulations/Byelaws

Course Activities

The following course content will be covered:

  • The requirements to install, commission and handover heat pump systems non-refrigerant circuits

  • Installing, commissioning and handing over heat pumps non-refrigerant circuits

  • The requirements to inspect, service and maintain heat pump system installations non-refrigerant circuits

  • Inspecting, servicing and maintaining heat pump installations non- refrigerant circuits

Assessment methods will include practical assessments and a multiple-choice knowledge test.

Course Fees

This course costs £500.00, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
