What do I need to join?

You will need:
• To complete a satisfactory initial assessment in literacy skills.
• It may also be useful to have already achieved a Level 1 qualification in health and social care.

General Information

This qualification provides learners with a range of underpinning knowledge in areas such as healthy eating, nutritional needs, weight management, eating disorders and food safety in the home environment. The qualification supports the Government drive to empower individuals to make healthy choices, a key focus of which is the need to educate and change behaviour on diet and nutrition to reduce the prevalence of obesity.

Distance learning is a great way of learning remotely without being in regular face-to-face contact with a teacher or an assessor. Students have the flexibility to study at home or at work, fitting in their course around other life and work commitments.

Who is this course for?

The course is suitable for learners working in, or intending to work in, healthcare and social care, to give them an understanding of nutrition and health, to support their role in the workplace.
