What do I need to join?
3 GCSEs at grade A*-C or a related Level 2 qualification PLUS maths and English GCSE at grade C/4 or higher.
This course offers a theoretical and practical application of knowledge of Engineering. The course will cover both, electrical and mechanical engineering aspects, providing you with a grounded introduction to the world of engineering.
Who is this course for?
The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like a career in the Engineering industry or wish to progress to HNC/HND Engineering

Engineering at LMC
The Engineering department at Lancaster & Morecambe College has a successful training programme for apprentices and advanced apprentices for Fabrication & Welding. Full time courses are offered in Fabrication & Welding, Maintenance Engineering and Electrical Installations. LMC is increasing its training provision for students who are looking to a future in the engineering sector. Companies are increasing their intake of engineering apprentices, with the aim of developing and retaining their skills base.

LMC has over 60 Apprentices working in the engineering industry.
Where does it lead?
Past students have gone on to higher courses in Engineering and the Built Environment. Last year’s students secured employment with EDF, GA Engineering, Bowker IT and Rogerson. Students progress to working as engineers in a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, utilities, marine construction, steel fabrication, laundry clothing processing, fuel storage/distribution, sheet metal fabrication and electrical engineering.
