The Travel & Tourism Level 2 Diploma will open your horizons to the industry full of experiences and opportunities.

This course is a high quality, industry-recognised course and is for students wishing to gain detailed knowledge, skills and experience in a variety of areas of the travel and tourism sector. We will teach you skills that are current, relevant, and topical.

The course is delivered over a 34-week programme. It contains core units as well as an individually designed combination of English or maths. This will create a sound background to either working in travel and tourism or progressing onto the Travel & Tourism Level 3 Diploma or Air Cabin Crew course.

You will be assessed via a range of methods, including projects, role plays, online exams, written assignment, and presentations. You will be expected to undertake regular home study on this course.

Course Overview

As part of the programme, there will be additional costs linked to out of college educational visits and guest speakers.

Industry expert guest speakers join us to share their knowledge and experience so you are prepared for working within travel and tourism. You will have a variety of guest speakers visiting that include Jet2 Holidays hosting a career session and sharing an insiders’ view of the company’s recruitment process. This gives you a much better idea of how to research and apply for roles on the company’s careers website.

Past trips include Holiday Park visits, Cruise Terminal tours, Team-building activities, Chill Factor, Tour Operator office tours where they can build upon the skills learned in the classroom and see them in action at tourism settings.

  • Customer Service Skills

  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Overseas Resort Representatives

  • Retail Operations

  • UK Travel and Tourism Destinations,

Covering these will ensure a large range of the tourism industry is included in your learning.

Industry Links

You will have the chance to develop transferable skills whilst taking part in 50 hours work placement. Previous placements have included Travel agents, Holiday parks, Hotels, Restaurants, and Tourist information offices. This gives you the chance to apply all your knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and enhance your career prospects.

We have strong links with well-known industry names such as TUI, Parkdean Resorts, and Jet2holidays which open up exclusive opportunities to you throughout the course. Plus, you’ll also receive tips from industry experts on how to stand out from the crowd during recruitment days.

Progression Routes

Upon completion of the course, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Travel & Tourism Level 3 Diploma to continue your studies. This will give you the experience and qualifications required to work in the travel and tourism industry in a variety of exciting roles such as:

Entry Requirements

Minimum 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including English or maths OR a related Level 1 qualification plus minimum grade D/3 or higher in both GCSE English or Maths.

Students should have an enthusiasm for travel and tourism, a commitment to study, and enjoy working with people.
