This qualification aims to provide you with a nationally recognised maths qualification, equivalent to GCSE Maths grade 4+ and widely recognised by employers, colleges and universities as such.
The course is suitable for those who looking to further their maths skills in work or study and need a Level 2 qualification, but do not wish to follow the one-year GCSE programme.
Delivered in a flexible format that fits around your existing commitments, you will engage in individual study and tutor-taught workshops, where regular attendance required.
With regular attendance and work completed outside of the classroom, it is estimated that you can complete the course in 12 – 15 weeks. On completion of the course you will gain a Functional Skills Level 2 Maths qualification.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, a recent Level 1 Maths qualification or recent Maths study is useful.
During the course you will cover maths problem solving, number, measure, shape and space and data handling.
Number: Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing, fractions, percentages and decimals, ratio, proportion, scales and formulas
Measure, Shape and Space: Perimeter, area and volume, money and time, 2D, 3D, symmetry and map scales
Data Handling: Drawing tables, graphs and charts, averages and range, interpreting data

Access to HE
