Caroline Openshaw, Head of Sport

Morecambe Football Club has signed over 30 LMC Football Academy players since the partnership began.

Where does it lead?

Past students have gone on to university to study various Sports Science, Sports Coaching and Sports Rehabilitation degrees, as well as progressing through our own higher education programmes such as HND Sports Coaching or HND Exercise, Health and Injury Prevention. Career options include professional football, secondary P.E. and post-16 teaching, sports rehabilitation, fitness instruction and personal training. A number of students have also progressed onto sporting scholarships in the USA.

“College has supported me and helped me go to America firstly by giving me the idea to go and then showing me the right company to go with to make this possible. They always like to be kept up to date with everything that’s going on and I received extra support from maths and English teachers to help me get the best possible grade on my SAT.”

Hannah Williamson, Sport
