Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a number of exciting projects supported by the Government’s Strategic Development Fund to accelerate the green agenda and promote low-carbon services and practices.
Lancashire Colleges will be working in partnership with employers to identify skills shortages and ways to promote sustainability and net-zero practices in a number of sectors. The projects will develop state-of-the-art facilities and high-quality learning materials to promote sustainability.
Lancaster & Morecambe College are looking for a number of self-motivated individuals to implement projects which are funded until March 31st, 2022. 

Post subject to final confirmation of project funding.

Lancaster & Morecambe College is seeking a reliable Administrator to support the project.
You will provide administrative support for all aspects of the project, including organising meetings, assisting in the planning and running of events and promptly dealing with all project enquiries.
Experience of working in a busy administrative team and providing customer service is essential to the role. You will possess excellent planning, prioritising and organisation skills and be competent in the use of spreadsheets, databases and word processing packages

Key Tasks / Responsibilities

Job Purpose:  

  • To undertake a range of administrative duties which effectively support the Strategic Development Fund Projects 

Key Tasks / Responsibilities:

  1. Provide a full range of administrative support for all aspects of the Strategic Development Fund project, supporting project leads and advisors.

  2. Deal promptly with enquiries in a professional and helpful manner at all times.

  3. Organise project meetings, including distributing agendas, notetaking and cascading actions.

  4. Support with administration required to report project spending, activity and outcomes.

  5. Assist in the planning and running of project events, helping to maximise the number of participants to meet challenging targets

  6. Work collaboratively with the College’s marketing specialists to create campaigns and target mailshots to promote courses, events and training. 

  7. Other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required.

Skills & Experience Required

Experience 

Essential - Measured by application form and interview

  • Experience of working in a busy office-based administration team covering a wide range of duties 
  • Administration including managing information and production of reports

Desirable - Measured by application form and interview

  • Experience working in an education/training environment

Qualifications

Essential - Measured by application form and interview

  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2)
  • Business Administration/Customer Service qualification 

Desirable - Measured by application form and interview

  • IT qualification

Essential - Measured by skills test and interview

  • Excellent customer service skills and a pleasant helpful manner
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of spreadsheets, databases and word processing packages
  • High standard of English and numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for problem-solving, ability to cope with pressure and meet deadlines
  • Systematic, accurate and consistent approach to work with excellent organisational and administrative skills
