Hospitality & Catering Students Impress in National Competition

Accompanied by chef and tutor Adrian Law, Joseph Wells and Sam Campbell on the Hospitality & Catering Level 3 course joined Chef de Partie Apprentice Stefan Holroyd to enter this year’s PACE (Professional Association for Chefs in Education) competition.

Joseph won silver in the ACF Restaurant 4 Skills Competition Rising Star Award for laying and decorating a restaurant table and napkin folding.

Sam entered the ACF North West Commis Chef of the Year Competition Eric Walker Trophy, leek and potato soup, Coq au vin with parisienne potatoes, petits pois à la française, but unfortunately didn’t win.

Stefan won a silver medal in the ACF North West Pastry Commis Chef of the Year Competition, Dougie Simpson Trophy for his Gluten free Bakewell tart with creme Anglaise and rum babas with Chantilly cream.

Hospitality & Catering tutor and chef, Adrian Law said, “I’m incredibly proud of the students. They were enthusiastic with their creative menus and really impressed the judges.”
