Course fees for GCSE English & Maths

English & Maths courses are free if you do not already have a GCSE Grade 4/C. If you already have GCSE Grade 4/C and wish to retake the cost is £500.

Functional Skills Workshops

Functional Skills workshops give you the opportunity to work towards and achieve a Functional Skills Qualification in Maths &/or English, and are nationally recognised qualifications, with the Level 2 being equivalent to the GCSE Grade C/4.

ESOL @ LMC - English for Speakers of Other Languages

Through specialist tutors we deliver weekly sessions to ESOL learners at all levels from Beginner, Entry 1, to Advanced at Level 2. We work closely with local organisations to support learners in need of ESOL tuition and we support students to progress through the levels, including onto GCSE English, and into employment.

Caitlain Woods took home the winning prize for the Advanced Apprenticeship category, for her efforts on her Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship at Lancaster University.

LMC welcome IfATE members to shape skills training for the future workforce

LMC were pleased to welcome senior staff from the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) onto campus earlier this month, for a day of informative meetings focusing on curriculum development, green skills and employer engagement. IfATE is the national body which oversees the development and quality of apprenticeship and technical qualifications, and they work collaboratively with employers from all sectors, to shape skills training for the future workforce across England.

LMC celebrate being recognised as Careers Champions by the Careers and Enterprise Company

Lancaster & Morecambe College are celebrating the news that they have been recognised as Careers Champions by the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC). The announcement was made at the ‘Careers Excellence 2024’ event at the House of Lords earlier this week, where the College was commended for its exceptional work in the Building Future Skills category, by embedding careers learning across its whole curriculum.

As part of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week (NAW24) LMC welcomed around 30 local, regional and national employers and over 300 visitors onto campus last week for their annual Apprenticeship Open Evening.
