Careers guidance

Our Engagement Team are here to provide all of our learners and apprentices with information and advice on courses and entry requirements; from your first visit to campus for an Open Day, right through to you completing your course and graduating from the College, we will support you to find the right information for your individual needs and future plans.

The College CEIAG has a range of well-embedded student support services in relation to learning and employability for all students through the tutorial programme, which is designed to build relationships with students and provide ongoing support, as and when required.

It's always good to plan for the future. The Careers Information, Advice & Guidance service at College offers careers and education advice to current students at Lancaster & Morecambe College.

We can support the learner with a range of activities, including but not limited to;

  • Information on College courses, tuition fees, and the Advanced Learner Loan
  • Exploring your career or study options
  • Support with writing or updating your CV
  • Preparing for professional interviews
  • Applying for university
  • Finding out how or where to apply for jobs or apprenticeships

Choosing the right course is really important and with a bit of help from the Careers Information, Advice & Guidance Officer, the learner can browse all available options and then receive the support necessary in order to move forward with their applications.

Information, Advice & Guidance

Lancaster & Morecambe College fully supports and is committed to providing high quality careers education, information and guidance (CEIAG) to all learners and apprentices while enabling them to make the most informed decisions regarding any opportunities which are open to them.

LMC will support learners and apprentices to understand the world of work fully, to appreciate what skills, qualifications and behaviours they will need to develop and sustain successful employment.

The College encourages learners to consider all of their opportunities and broader career including those within and outside of their immediate/local community. This social mobility awareness is fundamental to the education process as well as the development of career aspirations.

Careers Programme

Our Careers Programme has been designed to meet the needs of all of our learners, through a range of structured tutorials, sector-specific events and targeted workshops & sessions. Learners should make informed choices regarding careers, based upon local and national LMI and employment opportunities. We work closely with our partner employers and stakeholders to equip our learners with the skills and qualifications they will need to succeed in their future careers.
