Lancaster & Morecambe College (LMC) students have recently been treated to a Big Chat in Coulson’s Restaurant, organised by the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team, to encourage their students to talk about their wellbeing, whether that is physically, mentally and emotionally.

Over 35 students attended for the first session of the year from a range of departments around the College, including the Electrical Installations and Path to… students. Organiser Beth Tilburn said “there was a buzzing atmosphere around the event as well as some lovely cakes, prepared by our students in the Path to Catering department”.

Aspire coordinator Valerie Shemilt commented “It was a delight to see the learners engaging socially with each other and smiling. We are looking forward to the next one!”

LMC Tackling Inactivity Project Lead, Adam Cowperthwaite, was also present, giving boxing tasters to students to encourage students them to engage more with sports.

The Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team have already organised a second session for students on Tuesday 17th October, and are booked monthly from now until May 2018.
