Travel Students Learn From The Pros At Park Resort
LMC Travel and Tourism students were delighted to be invited to Ocean Edge Holiday Park in Heysham as part of their studies about holiday parks and resorts.
The group were treated to an excellent day which started with a warm and friendly welcome from all the staff and management team at Ocean Edge. During the day students were given an introduction into employment opportunities within Parkdean Resorts, a tour of the park including viewing the range of holiday accommodation and a sneak preview of the evening entertainment from “Troopers”, the Parkdean’s entertainment team.
They met the park mascots Sparky and Sparkle for a photo opportunity, hit the dancefloor with the Troopers for a party dance, and enjoyed a complementary lunch in the Boathouse Restaurant.
Course tutor, Vickie Walsh said “This was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn about the operational aspects of a Holiday Park and to gain an insight into the company ethos and values.”
Level 3 Travel & Tourism student, Lauren Taylor, 16, from Morecambe said “It was a great day which gave me an insight into how a holiday park operates and the types of job opportunities available”. Former Queen Katherine pupil, Dagan Jackson from Kendal added “What a fabulous day, I really enjoyed it. I loved meeting the “Troopers” and taking part in a party dance routine”
