LMC Students Support Inclusion Event at University of Cumbria
A group of second year Level 3 Sport students from LMC recently supported a sports inclusion event for Key Stage 2 children at the University of Cumbria.
The event was organised by the University of Cumbria and the Lancaster and Heysham Schools Sports Network.
The event provided LMC students with the opportunity to work with KS2 Primary School children. They supported in the coaching of a range of inclusive sports activities to the children which required careful planning to ensure effective delivery. The range of sports activities that were delivered to the school children included sitting volleyball, curling, inclusive golf and bowls, blind/guide activities and goalball.
LMC Programme Area Manager for Sport & Public Services, Jayne Roper said "the event provided the students with an opportunity to gain experience of delivering inclusive Sports Coaching techniques to diverse groups. This will enhance and develop their future working practices in Sports Coaching.”
The event provided students with an excellent opportunity to develop their Employability Skills in a range of aspects. Students also gained a wide array of industry relevant experience which will support them in their future career pathways.
