What did you do after College?
After finishing at college I worked in retail throughout the summer until I started at University of Cumbria on the 3 year Primary Education Course 3-11 years with QTS.
How did you get into your career?
I have wanted to become a teacher since I was in high school, so my college course really helped take the next steps to become a teacher.
What were the best bits about your course?
The assignment writing was a great way of learning to write academically, which is a massive part of my university course. The placements being a weekly occurrence have been really beneficial in gaining experience in the workplace, have been really great for confidence building, and have also allowed me to gain good working relationships with some teacher in local area.
Why did you choose Lancaster & Morecambe College?
It was local and the childcare department had been recommended for being known as one of the top departments in college. The course was also perfect for my future career.
How did LMC help you get where you are today?
My tutors were amazing in supporting me get into university, especially with work, assignment writing and gaining the experience needed to become a teacher.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the same course?
Make sure you work hard and are organised. Other than that, you’ll have the best two years working with some really great tutors! Embrace your placements, the more effort you put in, the more opportunities and experience you’ll gain from them.
