Roxanne decided she wanted to become a nurse and knew that the Access to HE course at Lancaster and Morecambe College would help get her on the path to the qualification.

Roxanne told us that she chose to study at LMC because it was the best course for her purpose, allowing her to improve her academic skills and make new friends as she studied. She decided she wanted to become a nurse to help, care and advocate for people with learning difficulties and mental health struggles and the course at LMC touched on all those subjects.

Whilst on the course, I took away the skills in how to manage and organise my time to meet deadlines and how to juggle college and home life.

Roxanne is a mum and carer for her autistic daughter with profound learning difficulties and is also a studying Mental Health Nursing Degree at the University of Cumbria,. She told us her biggest achievement so far is achieving Mazlow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
