Overview

Overview

Do you have experience working with a wide range of traditional Art and Design processes and new technology in digital media? Do you want to use your knowledge and expertise to support learners with their technical skills? Lancaster and Morecambe College is seeking an Instructor Technician to join the Visual and Creative Studies team. You will oversee the use of technical and practical resources across the department, and assist learners with 3D, Printmaking, Photography, Graphics, Fashion, Textiles, Music Studios, Film & TV, Digital Media and Games workshops. Would you like to help bring the latest approaches into the classroom and serve your profession through education? We have a vacancy in the Plumbing section of our Construction & Engineering team working in our state of-the-art Construction Centre at Lancaster & Morecambe College and welcome applications from both experienced teachers/lecturers in Plumbing, and industry professionals wishing to transition into teaching. Lancaster & Morecambe College is working in partnership with the Education and Training Foundation to deliver ‘Taking Teaching Further’. This additional funding provides a unique opportunity for industry professionals to transition to a dual professional teaching role at the College. The funding will support your comprehensive on-the-job training programme, including initial teacher training qualification; individual support and mentoring; and a reduced teaching workload in the first year. The role, and associated funding, is open to external candidates who have worked for a minimum of 3 years and within the last 18 months, in the electrical trade or industry and who do not yet hold a substantive teaching qualification. We would expect you to have a keen interest in the development of young people entering the profession and be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and teaching potential. Overview

Do you have experience supporting apprentices to achieve their future career aspirations? Lancaster & Morecambe College are seeking an Apprenticeship Progress Coach to support the Lancashire Engaging Apprentice Programme (LEAP). LEAP is a  European Social Fund project and supports Lancashire based SMEs in a career focused way by offering mentoring and guidance to apprentices and employers alike.  With a strong career focus, apprentices will engage in masterclasses with industry professionals designed to inspire and motivate them, ensuring they bring fresh ideas into the workplace. We can also support employers with coaching and mentoring. You will manage and develop an innovative careers programme for all apprenticeship provision to ensure apprentices develop the appropriate skills and understanding to progress their careers. It is essential to have experience in the delivery of apprenticeships in the workplace. You will be practised in planning and organising events/training opportunities and providing careers advice and guidance. An innovative and flexible approach, along with the ability to motivate others, is required. A current driving licence and business travel insurance with access to own vehicle is also essential.
