Are you an experienced industry professional looking for a new challenge and career change? Have you considered teaching, and passing on your skills to the next generation? Would you like to help bring the latest approaches into the classroom and serve your profession through education? We have a vacancy in the Fabrication & Welding section of our specialist Engineering team working in our state of-the-art Construction Centre at Lancaster & Morecambe College. Lancaster & Morecambe College is working in partnership with the Education and Training Foundation to deliver ‘Taking Teaching Further’. This additional funding provides a unique opportunity for industry professionals to transition to a dual professional teaching role at the College. The role, and associated funding, is open to external candidates who have worked for a minimum of 3 years and within the last 18 months, in the fabrication & welding/ sheet metalwork industry and who do not yet hold a substantive teaching qualification. We would expect you to have a keen interest in the development of young people entering the profession and be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and teaching potential. If you would like an informal chat to learn more about the role, please contact Ryann Williams (Programme Area Manager) or Louise Boardley (deputy) initially via email: r.williams@lmc.ac.uk or l.boardley@lmc.ac.uk. A phone call can then be arranged if appropriate.
