Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for 16-18 year old and adult learners, the course will include a substantial amount of careers related learning designed to support progression to the suitable next step, this could include educational trips, employability skills and employer encounters such as guest speakers. For 16-18 year old learners this will be delivered as a study programme which includes math and English where applicable and work experience.

What progression and career opportunities will I gain?

This course could give you the opportunity to continue esports study at university or other creative media production course at HE level.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

3 GCSE's at grade A*/9-4 OR a Level 2 related qualification PLUS grade C/4 or higher in both Maths and English.

The world of competitive video gaming is a fast-growing international phenomenon with millions of fans and billions of pounds (dollars) up for grabs. Streaming services and live events have turned casual gamers into serious stars who can sometimes rake in seven-figure earnings and massive brand endorsements.

eSports describes the world of competitive, organised video gaming. Competitors from different leagues or teams face off in the same games that are popular with at-home gamers: Fortnite, League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, and Overwatch to name but a few. Streaming services like Twitch allow viewers to watch as their favorite gamers play in real time and this is typically where popular gamers build up their fandoms.

All LMC students will receive tutorial support.

How will I be Assessed?

You will be assessed using a variety of methods such as: Projects, Coursework, Practical Performance, Assignments and Case Studies.

What qualification will I get?

On completion of this course you will receive a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Esports. This is equivalent to 3 A Levels and a recognised route to Higher Education.
