Sustainability at LMC

Sustainability

Lancaster & Morecambe College is involved in a number of exciting projects supported by the Government’s Strategic Development Fund (SDF), to accelerate the green agenda by addressing relevant skills shortages and supporting businesses to promote low-carbon services and practices.

Alongside an Energy Hub with a VR Suite and Robotics Lab, other new training facilities are being constructed on campus, in the following sustainable practices: Hydrogen-ready Technology, Retrofitting. Insultation, CAD & Electronics, Electric Vehicle Charging, and Plant Vehicle Training.

Do you own a business? The project allows for an expanded training offer, funded by the Department for Education until 18 December 2022, including free and subsidised technical training in carbon reduction and sustainable practices for managers and employees.  Contact the Sustainability Team to access free support from a specialist consultant to produce a low carbon action plan for your business.

This project is part of The Lancashire Colleges’ Strategic Development Fund Pilot, supporting colleges and local employers to work together to create a skilled workforce for a future low-zero carbon economy.
