Exploring apprenticeships information, advice and guidence appointments are available now. We offer opportunities to learn more about apprenticeships by attending a one-to-one information session and by joining one of our Exploring apprenticeship workshops - including tours, Q&As and application support.
Prospective apprentices are welcome to bring along another person including a parent, carers or a supportive person to explore what an apprenticeship is and have a look at what is involved from application to the end point assessments. It's an informal discussion with time to ask questions, find out about support with apprenticeships and how to navigate all the options for you.
These appointment slots are available in our Twight session on Tuesdays 3pm - 6pm and Fridays 10am –12pm.
Get work ready with support from our progress coach to create or improve your CV, write a cover letter and to understand applications processes. We also offer opportunities to develop interview skills, to build confidence in applying for a job and selling your skills from the beginning of the application process to getting through the interview.
All applicants for apprenticeships will need to provide an up-to-date CV before they can be added onto our matching system.
These appointment slots are available in our Twight session on Tuesdays 3pm - 6pm and Fridays 10am –12pm.
Currently we are developing other recruitment workshops and can discuss bespoke industry-based sessions with singular or group attendees. Please get in touch if you want to explore this option further.
Please use the form below to book onto either sessions or workshops.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience of animals with students and seeing a learners journey as they make progress. The best part of teaching the course would definitely be the experience we offer learners, it's a unique and hands on way of developing their knowledge of working with animals.
Teaching is my favourite part of the role, I love being able to help people reach that lightbulb moment in class! I also enjoy being able to inspire the next generation of Residential workers.
I enjoy being part of the team and thinking of new ways to support local businesses in realising their potential. Watching learners transition from a one-day course to gaining qualifications motivates me to continue teaching at LMC.

It’s really difficult to state just one thing I love about working at Lancaster & Morecambe College because there are so many! I really wanted to work here because the college has a fantastic reputation. I love introducing new ways of working and keeping up with relevant trends to improve the course, and I really enjoy the supportive environment that we create for our students.

As not only do you gain the knowledge and practical skills to work with animals, but you also gain the employability skills to be able to work in teams and work within the industry. My favourite part of my job is helping people achieve their GCSE English, a key qualification which will open doors for them in the future.
Try to achieve the best grades you can. As a qualified Carpenter or Joiner, you will have the opportunity to work anywhere in the world.
I love working with such keen and dedicated staff and students. I also like how every day is different because we attract such a wide range of students including year 11 from local high schools aged 16-18 who apply to the full time courses, to adult students who attend the part time courses. It’s nice to work with so many people from all different backgrounds and cultures who share a passion for cooking.
All you need to start the Supported Internship course is enthusiasm, motivation, energy and determination. As the course progresses, you will develop your employability, personal and social skills, which will enable you to increase your independence and develop your confidence and self-esteem. All of these new skills will ensure that you are better prepared to enter the workplace as a skilled and effective employee.
I love to see the difference between a student starting the course and then when they leave their course. They always gain confidence thanks to their new skills and it's amazing to see them leave with their qualification knowing that I have contributed in helping them achieve it.
Welding particularly is like lego for adults – its great fun making things. Whereas Engineering will teach you why things are made the way they are and a combination of both will give you the skills to make almost anything you can think of! Why not give it a go!
Be prepared to work hard and be challenged. The more you put in, the more you will get out of the course. It's a rewarding experience as you can clearly see your skills develop. There is also a great demand for skilled plasterers and the potential for good earnings, so why not give it a go?
