This course will develop your understanding of environmental challenges. It will also provide you with the knowledge needed to support and empower young people to make postive changes to the world.

This qualification is for anyone working in education, however you do not need to be in a teaching role. You need a real interest in sustainability, the environment and helping others.

This course is delivered online or in person, and the course fee is £450 to include registration and certification. For those working or living in the Lancaster City Council area the course is fully funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Course Overview

For this course the topics include:

  • Climate Change and climate equality

  • The benefits and processes of decarbonization

  • Education for sustainable development and how to deliver this effectively

  • UN sustainability Goals

  • Sustainable Food production

  • Waste and the circular economy

  • Biodiversity

  • Renewable Energy

  • Sustainable Transport

On-line route:

Monthly 2 hour session accessed on Teams 4.00-6.00. Sessions will also be recorded so you can access them if you can’t attend.

  • 1 full day face-to-face workshop held at LMC (Thursday 11th January. Materials will be available to view on-line but we strongly recommend trying to attend.

  • Monthly On-line optional assessment support sessions

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this course. However you must be able to complete assignments to a Level 4 Standard.
