This one-year course is designed for students seeking a broad range of opportunities to progress to Level 3 T-Level and build a career in the dynamic business sector.

The qualification aims to strengthen your understanding of key business concepts while developing practical skills such as event planning, market research and marketing methods. You will gain an insight into the corporate world and acquire knowledge that reflects the expectations of today’s employers, ensuring relevance to the modern business industry.

Course Overview

On this Business T Level Foundation course you will have the opportunity to take part in team working activities, listen to guest speakers and visit different types of business organisation. Through taught lessons, workshops and practical activities, you will learn to:

  • Plan an event

  • Event review and evaluation

  • Market research and marketing methods

  • Human resource planning

  • Communication and customer service

  • Assess the performance of businesses

  • Plan for sustainable business change,

  • Collaborate as a team member to develop sustainable business systems for business activities

You will undertake classroom taught sessions around these subjects, complete workbooks, and present back to your classmates about the subjects you have undertaken. If you successfully complete the course, you will have achieved a NCFE Certificate in Event Planning as well as completed learning that will prepare you well for the Level 3 T Level in Management and Administration.

You will be assessed through a mix of:

  • Projects

  • Assignments

  • Case Studies

  • Coursework

  • Practical Performance

As part of the course, you will spend 2 weeks on placement with a business organisation, where you will be able to put theory into practise and have an opportunity to develop the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours that employers look for in an employee.

• Interpersonal skills
• Communication skills
• Understanding work practices

Progression Routes

As this is a T Level foundation programme, we expect students to progress onto the T Level programme in Business after completing this foundation year, providing they have met the entry requirements of the T Level programme.

Progression routes include:

  • T Level in Business and Project Management

  • Employment

  • Apprenticeships in Business related subjects

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements:

  • 4 GCSEs at grade 3 and above including GCSE English language and maths.

  • One of the English Language or maths must be at grade 4.

  • A Level 1 Diploma qualification in the subject area with GCSE English language and maths at grade 3. One of the English Language or maths must be at grade 4.

  • Enthusiasm for the subject/area

  • Commitment to study (attendance, punctuality & behaviour)

  • Be able to work independently as well as in groups

  • Good interpersonal skills
