This course will help you to gain a good knowledge and understanding of how to support individuals with dementia, whether this be within your job role or your personal life.
This 25-week course is hosted online on our Equal platform where you will study the following units:
Understanding dementia
Person-centred approaches in care and support
Principles of communication and interaction
Supporting positive interaction, occupation, and activity
Equality, diversity, and inclusion
Supporting individuals to exercise choice and rights
Administration of medication and individual well-being
Upon course completion, you may choose to complete another health-related course. LMC currently offers several health-related Distance Learning courses, including:
Self-Harm & Suicide Awareness & Prevention – Level 2
Understanding Children & Young People’s Mental Health – Level 2
Understanding Nutrition & Health - Level 2
Understanding Behaviour that Challenges – Level 2
As this is a National Skills Offer course, certain funding criteria applies and this must be your first Level 3 qualification.
In addition, you must be motivated, able to work independently and be prepared to meet submission dates.
Before enrolling you will need to complete a Maths and English assessment.

Age 19 or over and unemployed or earning less than £26,800 annual gross salary OR are 19-23, the qual is L3 FCFJ and earning over £26,800 without a Full Level 3 prior attainment.
