Course taken: Engineering Level 3
School: Carnforth High School
What are the best things about your course?
The practical side of the course is very engaging, and helps you to understand how to use tools and manage your time. Our machining tutor is highly experienced, so we receive great guidance and insider tips, such as how to get great surface finishes!
Why did you choose your course?
I wanted to do a course which had great prospects, was something completely different to anything I had previously done, would present me with a challenge and would give me a lot of practical skills. Engineering ticked all the boxes, and continues to do so!
Why did you choose Lancaster and Morecambe College?
Everyone I know who has been to LMC has managed to gain full time employment, and I’ve heard plenty of success stories from people who attended LMC. It was a no brainer!
What would you say to someone thinking about taking this course?
If you are Engineering minded, get yourself on this course. The team are great, and if you put the work in, you will get so much out of it. Opportunities are offered to you, and you receive lots of support, guidance and assistance.
What has been your biggest accomplishment whilst studying at LMC?
I have been able to create a fully working circuit, which is able to sense movement and indicate this by lighting LEDs, whilst also moving a motor to where the movement is sensed.
What do you hope to do when you’ve completed this course?
I am hoping to progress onto the Extended Diploma in Engineering at LMC.
