Course taken at college:
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport
What were the best bits about your course?
The atmosphere from living, training and studying with your team mates each day. The tutors are always willing to help and support if needed, but they also allow you the independence to get on with your own work. I also found that living away from home was a valuable learning experience, which was a great step in becoming more independent before I go to America on a Football Scholarship.
Why did you choose your course?
The course allowed me to train and play football each day at a highly competitive level, which helped to develop my game. The course also gave me background knowledge to improve my overall understanding of sport; from anatomy to sport as a business.
Why did you choose Lancaster & Morecambe College?
I chose LMC because of its close links to Morecambe FC, which gave me the opportunity to play for Morecambe FC reserves and to go on Work Placement at the club. It also gave me the opportunity to be trained by UEFA qualified coaches each session.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the course?
I would advise them strongly to enrol on the course but only if they are willing to put the hard work in, both on and off the field.
What has been your biggest accomplishment whilst studying at LMC?
On completing the qualification I achieved a D*D*D* grade over the two years, which gave me 420 UCAS points and will allowed me to access high level courses at University if I decided to continue my education in the UK in the future. In addition, I am also happy to have completed my F.A. Level One Coaching Football qualification which included safeguarding and first aid.
What do you hope to do when you’ve completed this course?
I have achieved a Football Scholarship to the USA in South Carolina. I will be continuing my football development alongside my academic qualifications. I will be flying to America to start my new career chapter in August which I am really looking forward to.
