I hope to complete my Level 2 course at college and then start my Apprenticeship with BAE in September this year.

Is this the first course you have done at LMC?
No I have previously completed an Animal Studies course and then progressed onto a Public Services course. I really wanted to work with animals, and become a dog handler in the Police Force, but there were no jobs for this role, so I had to have a rethink and change my career path - so I chose Fabrication and Welding.

What are the best things about your course?
I really enjoy the practical work, it’s hard work but there’s lots of different projects to work on, and the workshops are always busy which I enjoy.

Why did you choose your course?
Having had to rethink my career, I put a lot of thought into what I’d really like to do and decided that was a profession in Fabrication & Welding.

Why did you choose Lancaster & Morecambe College?
I chose LMC as it’s my local college and I enjoyed being here in the past.

What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the course?
Definitely do it, there’s a lot of hard work but it’s also fun!

What has been your biggest accomplishment whilst studying at LMC?
I’ve enjoyed learning a new trade, which enabled me to gain an Apprenticeship with BAE Systems in Barrow as a Steel Worker/Fabricator.

What do you hope to do when you’ve completed this course?
I hope to complete my Level 2 course at college and then start my Apprenticeship with BAE in September this year.
