Business at Lancaster and Morecambe College was the best course to prepare me for the real world. I studied modules that educated me on every aspect of business including marketing, health and safety, management, entrepreneurship and lots more. As I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after college, this was the perfect course which gave me lots of possible career paths after finishing.

Is this the first course you have done at LMC?
Business was the first and only course that I took at Lancaster and Morecambe college. I was so happy that I was able to study this course at LMC due to the free bus service provided by the college. I am sure that had I not gone to university I would have continued studying at LMC.

What are the best things about your course?
Everything about the course was enjoyable. The wide variety of modules and freedom when completing assignments really contributes towards the passion you gain throughout this course. Through these modules I was able to find my enthusiasm for marketing in particular. Business at LMC included a great mix of both practical and written assignments. Practical activities were so much fun and really contributed to gaining team-working skills, we hosted a coffee morning as part of our events management module. The trips were always amazing, as well as educational. My favourite was a visit to London, where we took part in a business tour of Chelsea Football Club and Hamley’s. All of the tutors are amazing, and really supportive, always helping towards my development. I created a great relationship with the college and tutors, so much so that I am still in contact with the college four years later.

Why did you choose your course?
Business at Lancaster and Morecambe College was the best course to prepare me for the real world. I studied modules that educated me on every aspect of business including marketing, health and safety, management, entrepreneurship and lots more. As I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after college, this was the perfect course which gave me lots of possible career paths after finishing.

Why did you choose Lancaster and Morecambe College?
I chose LMC because I wanted a change of scenery after school. I felt like broadening my horizons and meeting new people would give me skills and qualities that staying at a sixth form at home wouldn’t. I was also impressed with the facilities LMC offered, including The Hex independent work area. All of the facilities are brilliant and offer a motivating environment to learn. I also enjoyed the timetable which allowed me to work part time outside of college which helped contribute towards my study’s.

What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the course?
Go for it! This course offers so many possibilities and opportunities. College prepares you for future prospects and careers in so many ways. Anyone thinking of going to university- business at LMC offers an introduction into uni life, giving you the independence and assignment structure very similar to a degree. Anyone thinking of going straight into work after college- business at LMC offers the knowledge and skills required to progress into a wide variety of roles. The support you receive while studying this course is also second to none. The tutors work together with you to make sure you get the most out of this course as possible and help towards your successes. Studying business at LMC is a decision you will not regret.

What has been your biggest accomplishment whilst studying at LMC?
I was extremely proud to have achieved triple distinction in my level 3 Extended Diploma in Business. This was down to the support and encouragement I received from my tutors as well as the motivation I gained from the college facilities and module activities. I then went on to receive both conditional and unconditional offers from all five of my university choices.

What have you done since completing this course?
Since leaving LMC I have studied my degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. I was recently awarded a 2:1 BA Hons in Marketing Management. Studying Business at LMC helped ignite my passion for the industry and set the foundations for my successes at university. I am now looking forward to starting my first graduate role as a Buyers Admin Assistant at Nasty Gal.
