I hope to either continue on to university after the T Level course, potentially to study veterinary nursing, or to pursue a full-time career in the animal industry. I would recommend this course to others, I’d say it’s challenging and involves a lot of work, but if you’re thinking of going into the animal and land-based industry, it’s definitely worth it!
Toby started the Animal Management & Science T Level course at LMC in September 2024. He quickly settled in, feeling supported by both tutors and classmates. With a strong interest in animals, the course stood out to him for its mix of practical and academic content, covering everything from lab skills to animal health. Since joining, he has made solid progress and is already thinking ahead to a future in the Animal Care industry.
I felt welcomed into LMC almost straight after joining the Animal Management & Science T Level by both tutors and my peers. I was given all the financial help I needed from the Student Money Team, and support with my education was provided at the College by course tutors. I’ve only been studying since September 2024, and my course so far has been fun, informative and interesting.
Toby chose to study this course because he has a strong interest in animals, and it covered all the key areas needed to pursue a career in the land- and animal-based industry, including practical lab skills, anatomy and physiology, biosecurity, and animal health.
I enjoy working with the people on my course, as we’re all like-minded and share similar goals. The best parts so far have been applying theoretical knowledge in practical sessions and learning the core pathway content, which are the parts I find most engaging.
Toby has learned how to conduct health checks for a range of species and how to perform CPR correctly. He has also developed a range of academic skills, including how to research effectively, write reports, use Harvard referencing, and understand command words.
He believes that achieving an A on his first core pathway assessment, which focused on animal behaviour, has been his biggest accomplishment at college so far. This success has given him greater confidence as he prepares for his upcoming exams.
