This course is suitable for those who want to work in the plumbing and heating industry in preparation for an apprenticeship.

The course consists of 6 exams, four theory assessments and one project along with practical assessments which will be carried out under assessment conditions. At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of all aspects of plumbing and heating.

Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for 16-18 year old and adult learners, the course will include a substantial amount of careers related learning designed to support progression to the suitable next step, this could include educational trips, employability skills and employer encounters such as guest speakers. For 16-18 year old learners this will be delivered as a study programme which includes math and English where applicable and work experience.

What progression and career opportunities will I gain?

This course can lead onto a HNC/HND, higher education or employment within the plumbing industry.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

• 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher including maths and English and a Level 2 related qualification PLUS grade C/4 or higher in BOTH Maths and English.

• Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.

What does the course involve?

You will study the following:

• Cold Exam

• Hot Exam

• Sanitation Exam

• Central Heating Exam

• Electrical

• BSE Exam

• Plumbing and Heating Practical

• Planning Adjustments

All LMC students will receive tutorial support.

How will I be Assessed?

This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including projects, coursework, practical performance, assignments and exam/online assessment.

What qualification will I get?

On completion of this course you will receive a BPEC Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating.
