Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Fabrication and Welding in the Engineering department to both full time students and Apprentices
When did you start working at LMC?
I started here in November 2015
What brought you to LMC?
There was a vacancy for a part time welding tutor in the evening class, which I applied for and was successful. After working here for a few months I was then offered a contract to teach full time students and Apprentices.
What did you do prior to working here?
I worked with various companies fabricating and welding pipework in workshops and on sites.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
I enjoy helping train students of all ages to gain skills for a trade that will help them go on to employment within the engineering industry.
What is the best thing about the course(s) you teach?
One of the best things is seeing students motivated to learn new skills and seeing how far they progress throughout the year.
What are the best bits about working at College?
Working within a highly motivated and friendly group of staff who all have the same passion to see students achieve.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about joining your course?

I enjoy being part of the team and thinking of new ways to support local businesses in realising their potential. Watching learners transition from a one-day course to gaining qualifications motivates me to continue teaching at LMC.
I really enjoy passing on my joinery experiences and skills to the students, as well watching them develop into good citizens.
I enjoy helping young people achieve their GCSE English, a key qualification which will open doors for them in the future.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience of animals with students and seeing a learners journey as they make progress.
