Chris started working at Lancaster & Morecambe College in November 2015 after seeing a job vacancy to teach welding on part time courses. He was then offered a contract to teach the full time and apprenticeship courses.
Before joining the team, Chris worked for various companies, honing his fabrication and welding skills. Working in both workshops and on site, he is now able to share everything he learned with our students.
I worked for various companies fabricating and welding pipework. Throughout my career, I have been able to harness my skills in various envirnoments.
When asked what his favourite part of working at LMC is, Chris said:
My favourite part about my job has to be being able to help and train students of all ages, supplying them with the skills they need to go on and gain employment within the trade.

I enjoy teaching this qualification a lot because all the apprentices show a real passion for the hairdressing industry. They all leave the course with the skills and knowledge to build their own client bases or set up their own businesses within the hair industry. Seeing the learners confidence grow more and more each week is my favourite part of the role.
The most satisfying part of my job role is inspiring students to have the confidence to become beauty therapists and work in their dream careers.
I would recommend LMC as a fantastic place to study sport and continue your development and interests in football. Your studies link to your football development as much as possible, helping you gain the knowledge, skills and experiences to pursue a career in sport in the future.
In my role as a course tutor I’m responsible for ensuring that my students develop in many areas, and not just Hairdressing. I like to encourage my students to improve their well-being as well as support them with their personal development and learning journey, to gain the knowledge to be successful within their course to achieve the qualifications they need to progress in the industry.
